Turbulent times has provided them with lots of business for war horses, but has not spared them from horrible losses. The elves have moved in closer, making the king’s xenophobia stronger. Clashes and wars against both the non-human kind as well as hostile clans and colonies wanting new territories have taken many lives already. Of her three brothers two have been lost to battle and the third one only finds joy at the bottom of a bottle, which makes Arleigh a much-needed help for her parents. Her visions and plans reach far beyond those of a horse merchandiser. She dreams of becoming a shieldmaiden, a hope and an image to avenge her brothers’ deaths and doing an actual difference in the world. Knowing very well that it would break her parents’ hearts, she has applied many times to the royal guard to be part of the kings mounted soldiers, but have always been declined due to her gender. Even plunging as low as bribery, it has not made a difference to the recruiting powers, which just grows her hatred to the boring, meaningless life she’s living. Other info: Arleigh is a skilled horseman due to her upbringing. In the prairies and woodlands near their horse farm she practices in solitude her skills in warfare to be able to fulfill her destiny to be able to make a difference in this world. She is accomplished with the sword and quick on her feet, making close combat a preferred option for her, but struggles with the art of ranged weapons. 2 sep, 2019 15:53 |

Name: Valarr
Age: 2000 years Gender:Male Race: Elf Appearance: (Sorry, men han är så bra! lite grymmare än Tolkiens elves. Tankte att min karatär är typ hälften av hans ålder så , runt 25 i människoår) : Background: His family has been a part of the Elf Kings advisors and guards, which quickly turned Valarr into a scholar and warrior himself. His kind were begining to become decimated when the humans begane to use mother means of warfare. With Pyromancers and katapults. Since he was a child he has had to endure magic , fire and deep wounds, scarring his body. One attack , centuries ago cost the life of his mother and elder sister, his father still holds his place as the Kings advisor, a position that Valarr does not wish to attain. Other info: He's well skilled with the sword and does not care for the bow, he prefers brute force and fire. The tricks he's learned from the books are well used during the war, he has burned and wiped villages off the map, the activity is not an enjoyable one but a necessary one. Arleigh placed her left foot firmly in front of her, pointing it headfirst in a straight line. She exhaled deeply through a small parting of her lips as she rolled her shoulders one by one, a decent try to loosen up the stiffness in her upper back. You can’t get overworked now, she thought to herself as she shook her head back, letting the blonde messy braid fall from her shoulder down her back. She placed her weight on her right back leg, foot turned to a supporting angle, and slowly lifted the big wooden bow in her left hand in front of her. With her lips lightly pressed together she felt the firm string with the back of her right hand, slowly inspecting the target in front of her. After a short breathing break Arleigh reached with her right hand to the holster fixated on her belt and grabbed a slim arrow, rolling it a few turns between her fingers until she firmly placed it on the bowstring in front of her. With an inhale she drew her elbow back, shifted her body ever so slightly and closed one eye, holding her breath as she scrutinized the arrow and the target. One heartbeat, two heartbeats, three and swoosh! “Shit,” she exclaimed as a reaction, looking at her arrow swiftly miss the bale of hay propped up in the distance between the trees. With a deep exhale she let her left hand drop with the bow back next to her, a disappointed frown growing on her forehead. Why did this have to be so hard? It felt like the easiest thing ever, or at least in theory. Being out of arrows, she dropped the bow on the ground in front of her and snapped off the holster from her belt with an annoying grunt. It did not feel wort it, having done all the work needed at the farm in record speed just to ride out to the forest line to practise when it was going this bad. Annoyed in her performance she kicked a pine-cone with one of her leather boots as she started walking towards the hay-bale to pick up the scattered arrows. Just not worth it. 9 sep, 2019 18:16 |

Near the border of the Elven Kingdom the troops are preparing for another assault to the human capital. By their nature, Elves were not keen on fighting but the need arose when the humans began to take their land and spilled first blood.
Valarr sits in his usual place near the overlook, his steed grazing behind him peacefully. The castle was extraordinary, he must say but the people in it were not as kind. "I believe we have some time to spare , do we not?" he asks , looking towards his horse. The large black destrier was made for war. With ease he stands up , looking towards the buildings once more before mounting his horse. "A short relaxing ride will do us good" With a quiet neigh from the horse and they're off. Against hi better judgement he did care to ride near the human villages, scouting , but that was not fully the case. The horse steps are quiet even through the fallen leaves and twigs, Valarr halts as he hears voices and the shrill barks of dogs. "Hunters" he thinks and his hand instinctively reaches down to the hilt of his sword, for a moment he thinks he should end them, scare the men off, they have no buisness here. Arleigh drew the last of the slender arrows out of the tree bark next to the haybale with a rapid tug, bracing her other hand against the bark for maximum force. She twirled the slim arrow between her fingers, feeling the smooth wood against her fingertips, before picking up the other arrows she had placed next to the tree. Time for round two then, she thought quiet to herself as she made her way back towards her bow, carefully biting into her lower lip at the same time. It had become a habit for her when either uncomfortable or deep in her own thoughts. One more round, then she would pack her belongings and head back to the ranch. The horses needed to be tended to, the most valuable ones had to be locked inside for the night, and for the stubborn ones it was no easy task.
The mare she had with her suddenly made Arleigh snap back into reality with a short neigh. The rouncey stomped the forest ground a couple of times with her front hoof, which was when Arleigh noticed the source of the horse’s edginess. Deeper into the forest she could make out the faint howls and barks, and as wolves usually did not roam these parts unless necessary, it probably meant they were accompanied by humans. “It’s just hunters, girl,” Arleigh said softly, packing the arrows back into their holster and fastening it on the side of the saddle, giving the mare a few pats on the back. She was a good working horse on the estate, but had a very clear dislike of dogs. Even though they were quite near the forest edge and could make a quick turn back if needed, the presence of hunters made her vary, and she felt like it was time to leave the rest of her training to another day. Hunters accompanied by dogs usually meant they were either hunting for bigger pray or sent out to track an unwanted animal or creature, making the forest not an ideal place just to linger, even if she was not deep in the woods. From the edge of the forest it was just a short horse ride to her family’s estate, and from there it was just one village between them and the capital. Arleigh really enjoyed her times spent in the citadel – the merchants, the mingling people, beautiful nobles, entertainers, the royal guards – everything there fascinated her, tingling her senses. If it wasn’t for the work she had, she would probably visit daily, if not move there all together. Chuckling shortly to herself she made the few strides needed to the wooden bow, picking it up from the forest floor with a bend, stopping to examine it for just a moment. She carefully rubbed the firm bowstring between her index finger and her thumb, pressing her lips together in dissatisfaction. She couldn’t help but to think it was unfair that this had to be her Achilles’ heel. 11 sep, 2019 00:12 |

The barks and yips from the dogs are becoming louder, the must have caught a scent of something., Valarr would rather not fight them but they did enter Elven territory , the marks and warnings were clear to keep from further bloodshed. A warning might be in order, and if they refuse the punishment would be issued, he had the authority for such decisions. He urges the destrier forward towards the men and hounds, hand firmly resting on the hilt of his sword. The forest itself seems to make way for him, as if the thorny bushes and thick branches move. "I do what I must" he thinks, the melancholy of his might be actions already burden him.
One of the men spots Valarr, aiming his bow at him. "S-stay back!" the fright in his voice in unmistakable as the dogs become louder, the horse does not flinch, just stomps his hooves against the forest floor. Valarr's voice is deep and firm when he addresses the hunters. "You have not place her, surely you know that. The border is not far, you'll have moment to regain yourselves and leave, then you will not be harmed" He truly did not wish to harm the men, inspite of his warrior appearance, it was not needed at all as both sides have suffered heavy losses in the war. "We have every right to be here, savage!" shouts another man, a fatter one with a red tinted beard and filthy yellow tunic, he doesn't seem to be a hunter but then again, humans saw things differently, borders did only exist for their Kings, no one elses. "Leave" comes a harsh reply from Valarr as he readies himself to cut them down. The hunters horses are becoming agitated and worried, stomping and one rears, almost throwing his rider off. Arleigh fastened the wooden bow on the back part of the saddle with a thin leather strap, making sure it was fast and secure. The mare let out a short snort while she shook her head, flaring the blonde main around, clearly eager to get going. Arleigh brushed her hand through her hair, swiping the short strands of hair off her face as she took a few steps to the nearby tree where her sword has resting.
The dogs’ barking and yelping grew in intensity in the distance. Slow ruffling could be heard from her horses slight uncomfortable moving, but Alreigh let her be. Slowly raising her sword, she examined the handle with care, as many times before. The beautiful swirls and embroidery in the metal was crafted with upmost attention to details. Human, elvish, dwarf crafted – it was unknown to her, as she had only come upon it on an abandoned battlefield among the rubbish and bodies. Perfectly weighted, it truly was her greatest possession. Sudden voices could be hear in between the dog noises, peaking her sudden interest. That felt strange, she thought to herself, as a slight frown formed between her eyebrows. Shouting, perhaps? She had seen many hunts before and were familiar with some of the hunters near their estate, and this seemed out of order. This was no ordinary animal hunt, this felt more… vicious, in a way. Threatful, even? Something was not right. With the sword in her hand she made her way back to the horse. After fastening the sword on the hilt on her belt she loosened the tie around the bridles from the nearby branch. She gave the mare a few encouraging pats on her head, a slight smile finding its way on her lips as she gazed upon the trustworthy horse. “Fight or flight, little friend?” she asked the horse quietly, listening in at the same time for a change in noises coming from the deeper part of the forest. 12 sep, 2019 22:39 |

Even threats in Elvish sound beautiful but frightening, the hunters are doing their best to avoid being cut down, sure enough one looses his arm from a quick cut of the elven blade, which almost seems to sing as it moves through the air. Valarr truly did not care for killing but they had refused to leave, if no one upholds and listens to the laws then things like this will happen. His large destrier does not flnch as the dogs attempt to attack , one is crushed under the heavy stomp of a hoof, the other two are taken out by arrows.
The men's horses are long gone, the one that reared had dragged one of the hunters a good twenty meters before he got loose, plenty of broken bones , pleading for mercy as the Elven Warrior sinks the sharp sword into his throat, twisting, causing blood to spurt onto his clothes, luckily they were dark enough to not show any stains at first glance, the dark, moss green, black and brown clothing was more suitable for a ride through the woods, nothing unlike the gilded armor with red and purple underneith that is meant for battle. With a quiet blessing over the bodies, Valarr leaves them to be consumed by the forest and animals, it was unfortunate but they would not listen, not much different than the youth of his own kind of ventured too far into the human lands, only to find themselves captured to strung up as a warning. Her horse did not react in any particular way, and Arleigh carefully bit into her lower lips as she glanced into the forest. The dense bushes and trees in the way made it impossible for her to see much further in to where the sounds were coming from. She could feel that something was not right, or it was at least a strong hunch feeling. The dogs continued their barking in the distance, and Arleigh slowly shook her head. Just a quick look, she thought. It could be some of the Decan brothers out making fools of themselves. They lived near Arleigh’s family estate and were not the most brilliant among men, but she did like hanging out with them. It could also be other hunters, or even soldiers for that matter. Just a quick peek wouldn’t hurt.
Arleigh swung herself up on the saddle of the rouncey, making it neigh quietly of anticipation, but much to the horses displease Arleigh steered their way towards the sounds in the forest and not back home. The working horse made her annoyance known by taking paths with lower hanging branches that every once in a while brushed against Arleigh’s head. The horse was used to riding in the woods, so this was done completely on purpose, as Arleigh very well knew. After some short scolding of the horse and a hasty ride Arleigh slowed down their pace to a slow walk. She let a small frown grow between her eyebrows as she looked around. The sounds had stopped a while back she guessed, apparently while she was too busy reprimanding her horse’s childish behaviour. Confused by the change, she let her eyes gaze around before she noticed the metallic smell lingering in the air. Blood, no doubt about it. She quietly rode a few strides inwards as her gaze finally noticed some of the sources. Three of the dead dogs laid on the forest floor, freshly killed by arrows and force. Not far from them she could spot something that looked like a corpse, and the branches and nature around showed clear signs of tumult, possibly horses. The blood had not even coagulated yet, which made her heart sank. Something had killed these hunters just recently, and who knows where the killers are on their way next. She had to trace her path back as soon as possible warn the nearby settlements, she thought distressed, trying to clear her head from the bloodshed in front of her. And get away from whatever did this, yes, that would work, she decided with a small glimpse of confidence that disappeared almost immediately as her horse let out an impatient neigh. “Shhhh!” Arleigh whispered quietly but harshly down at the mare before hastily turning her around, taking the first quiet strides back where they came from, carefully looking around for motion between the woods as her heartbeat pounded heavily in her chest. 15 sep, 2019 19:21 |
