Namn: Kael Lorth Ålder: 31 Kön: Man Utseende: Bakgrund: Kael was born by means of unfortunate events. With a mortal human mother who could never stand the look of him and no own memories of a father, he knew enough to figure out the details behind the cursed blood that floats in his veins. Half warlock, half dark elf, half something else – he did not know, he did not care, he hated it nevertheless the same. Loathed for his origin since the beginning while growing up among men, he despises anything magical which constantly reminds him of who he really is. With an upbringing shaded with survival and violence, he unleashes his hatred of what he is by working as a mercenary for men, spilling magic blood for gold and some sort of acceptance among the non-magic kind. His appearance is by no means protruding from far, making life easier in crowds. By taking a closer look at his eyes, pure black as the deepest well, and the tiniest point of his ears are a giveaway of something non-human. This he usually shades with a hat, a sort of trademark of his. Kael’s high sensibility to traces of magic as well as quick reflexes, either by blood or training, also gives him an edge in hunting magical blood. Övrigt: Relations had never been particularly good between the races, but all changed to the worse when the first epidemic hit. Men blamed black magic for trying to rid the world of non-magical blood by plagues and sickness, and declared war on every magical creature. What men lack in power, they gain in numbers and weapons. It is not the same world as a few decades ago, as even alliances between magical beings is being tested. It is a game with nor good or bad sides, only chaos and destruction. Plagues and wars have riddled since before Kael was born, being the only true way of life he’s ever understood. Blood shedding is normal, a necessary evil to give this land some well needed peace. He is rarely met with warmth, but instead usually with a reluctant acceptance or ignorance. He is not human, but not filled with fully cursed blood either, a rather particular situation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ✿ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kael couldn’t resist noticing how the streets of the citadel were emptier than normal. Not to be confused, the main roads were still packed with merchants and city dwellers, but last time he was here he remembered having a tough time coming through the thickest of masses. There had been no active war-zones in the outer districts for a while now, so he guessed the word had spread and some had traveled back to salvage what was left of their land and property. Kael could save them some time – practically nothing was usually left by those cursed savages roaming around. Valuables stolen, livestock and those who stayed behind usually eaten or slaughtered for fun. He knew, he had been present more times than he could count. 8 gold coins, just mere 8 gold coins per dead had he been awarded from his recent journey back. The noblemen spoke of bad times, lousy crops, all kinds of stories of how they could not pay the same amount per werewolf as before. The farmer before him had gotten an even greater reward for accidentally killing a young one, but Kael did not really care about that nor the excuses. It wasn’t really for money he hunted, and it was enough to refill supplies and get both food and rest for a couple of days. He wrinkled his forehead in disgust on the thought of the cursed creatures as he straightened the heavy bag hanging from his shoulder and took the final steps needed to reach the crooked door in front of him. He ducked slightly as he stepped into the small and gloomy shop as he was greeted by a quick look from behind the counter. “Silver”, Kael murmured shortly as he made his was to the counter and placed down his leather bag with a slight poof of dust, followed by the crossbow on his other side. “Certainly”, the shopkeeper hasted to say as he disappeared to the back of the dainty store. As much as he disliked the presence of cursed ones, he couldn’t ignore that Kael was one of his best customers, making his presence ever so slightly manageable. As the shopkeeper gathered things in the back, Kael opened his bag and took out a carefully rolled up thick piece of leather. He folded out the package just as the shopkeeper emerged with a heavy wooden box which he placed on the sparse empty space left on the counter. “Exchange”, Kael mumbled as he turned to the box, picking out varied silvered darts and ammunition from the box. In unison the shopkeeper folded the last piece of leather, exposing diverse small knives and blades, picking out the dull or broken ones to replace with new ones. They worked in silence as they’ve done so many times before, a preferred choice for both of them. When done, Kael placed the rolled-up leather back into his bag along with the other things he picked out, and left a short, crooked tower of coins on the counter. The shopkeeper, avoiding eye contact this whole time, took the payment and nodded towards the door. With a swift movement Kael placed the crossbow and the bag on separate shoulders. He tipped the end of his hat with two bruised fingers before retracing his steps out of the dainty shop and back to the street. He stopped his steps outside and let his dark eyes gaze around around, scrutinizing the people around. A few who walked past his tall frame and managed to catch his glaze quickly looked away and placed a tryingly unnoticeable additional pace to their walk. If you only knew what I do for you, he thought to himself as he pressed his lips together and adjusted the straps on his shoulders. 13 aug, 2019 23:44

Here is my templet.
Name: Vest Payne Age: 28 Gender: Female Looks: More normal dressed. Killing clothes Background: Vest doesn't know who her parents are, her first memories are from her walking around on the streets on her own. Trying to find something to eat. She was captured by humans around her fifth birthday without understanding why. They said she had powers, just like her parents, but she said it was a lie, that didn't had any powers. To be able to execute her they needed to have proof or a confession, so they started torturing her. In the beginning they simply denied her food, but as time went on, their treatment became worse, until they started abusing her, hoping she would confess or show her powers. At the age of fifteen, she was more dead than alive, begging them to kill her, they said they would kill her if she confessed, which she did, just so she could die. Vest didn't care anymore that she was innocent, fully believing that, until they set of to execute her. She changed her mind just as they were about to burn her, believing she was a witch. She showed her power at that moment, but she wasn't a witch, she was a shaman. She summoned a few spirits and set them off on her captures who killed them brutally and she managed to escape. To hide she joined a theater company, who soon saw her talent and she became one of the most popular actress, and she became famous. To the company and the few that meets her, she seems shy, careful and happy. She often dresses to cover up the scars she has since her time in prison and to the few who sees them she says her parents abused her. But due to her treatment from the humans, she hunts them and is known as the Jester, seeing she wears masks and makeup to hide who she really is. To her it doesn't matter who the humans she kills is, or if they have done something, she just to get rid of everyone and anyone who are on their side. Others: She has a lynx as a pet. The lynx is a spirit, which you can tell by it's colour, being more white/blue than brown. The humans thinks it's a majestic and rare pet, and she lets them think that. Thinks that's all you need to know, at least for now. ***** Vest was placed in front of the mirror adjusting her dress and hair, needing to be perfect for the role. Both were in her opinion atrocious, and nothing she would wear outside the stage, but for her role as a spoiled lady they were perfect. The green enormous dress made it hard to move and she was glad that this was a role that required very little movement. The hair wasn't better, and she wasn't even sure on how she should describe it, besides being something that got caught in a tree, tangled and than decorated with gems. She glanced over at Rain, who was resting on her pillow. The lynx glanced back at her, clearly charing her opinion. "It's very popular among the ladies, and a lot of them have ordered this dress at the tailors" the lynx shook her head as she said that humans were stupid. Rain could talk, and often did when they were alone, but at the theater she never did, knowing the risk of being spotted was to large. Vest was pleased that the other one was intelligent, but she had also lived for a few hundred years. "It will only be a short of time before they adapt the hair as well" "And none of them would look as lovely as you do my dear" Vest turned around to face Trevor, her counterpart on stage, and she pretended to be taken by the compliment. Trevor said the same to any woman he meet, and few thought anything about it, or even knew about it. Vest had seen him with enough ladies to know. Not that it become her, seeing he was a filthy human, but she could never let him know what she thought, seeing it would ruin her cover. "Thank you Trevor" she gave him a small smile "But to be honest, the dress is awfully hard to walk in" "No one can tell, as you make it look as easy as any other dress" "Really?" "Of course my dear" he offered her arm and she took it, turning towards Rain. "Stay here girl. I will be back in a few hours" the lynx only tilted her head, knowing how to play the cute but not understanding pet all to well. "Always so well mannered" Trevor smiled towards Rain before they walked towards the stage. Vest glanced at the audience, seeing the wealthy sitting on their balconies, a few of them in the same dress as she wore, none of them had adapted the hair yet. The lower citizens was standing in front of the stage and she could almost smell them from here. From what she could feel, all of them humans. She still needed to master the ability of feeling other supernaturals present. She tried to work with the energies around her, Rain said it was possible, but she only managed sometimes. There was a lot of things she could do, if she just learned, but she had focused on her skills of summoning spirits, and to use the things around her to kill. She rarely met other shamans, but her other name was known on the streets and she had heard what a disgrace she was to her kind, but as long as they lived she didn't care. The whole town could hate her, but as long as the humans were dead, she would be pleased. "Ready?" Trevor whispered, almost vibrating with excitement, as he always did and she nodded. "See you soon" With those words he stepped out on stage saying his first line and Vest waited for her moment to do the same. 14 aug, 2019 05:52 |

Time was fortunately not of the essence. Kael needed some well needed rest and recovery from the hunt a few nights ago and turned his steps the usual way down one of the main roads. This part of the citadel was quite nice. Clean, safe, a good meeting ground for street merchants as well as diverse stores and provisions.
He dragged his feet along the dusty beaten-down cobblestones, past some of the high-end brothels and taverns. He was quite pleased that the wind was not blowing from the southern parts this time. Around once or twice a week they used to burn the bodies in the outskirts of the city. Any sign of sickness and you were sure to get a one-way ticket to the death farm, as he would call it. Those not too riddled with plague or disease would tend to the sicker ones, and when the piles of dead grew bigger, they burned the bodies. The stench was horrible, almost eye-watering as the traces of burned rotten flesh singed the air, and southern winds tended to bring the smell right through the heart of the citadel. Even the most desperate whores would retreat inside during those unfortunate days. It was a good reminder for the city habitants of the dark curse feasting on the people, but also an effective way to grow paranoia. So much of a cough and you might be reported by a bystander, friend, or even family. He passed the city theatre and turned to a small, almost unnoticeable street next to it. To the left there was a beaten door that he carefully opened not to make it creek too much and cautiously stepped inside. Inside was a dainty bar with tables for not more than a handful of people due to the narrow stairs running against one of the walls. It was neither big nor nice, but usually empty, quite to his liking. Laurel, the older lady running the place, had also never turned him away, which made it his preferred place to stay while in town. She was also close to blind, but her hearing had no thoughts on declining. “The usual room?”, Laurel asked as she heard his footsteps approach the bar and picked up a key from behind the counter. She had been filling up a tiny hole in the wall behind the bar to keep rodents out, but knew those heavy dragging footsteps from far. “The usual”, Kael replied and grabbed the worn out key from the counter and made his way up the stairs in an acquaint way as Laurel shouted that she was unfortunately out of whisky. He opened the first door, one of very few, and stepped into the narrow room. A bed, washing cabinet and a window, no more or less than he needed at the moment. Kael placed down his leather bag with care and rested the worn crossbow next to it. With a sigh he carefully lifted the hat from his head and let his other hand run through the messy hair. I need it cut, he thought to himself and scratched the back of his head as his dark eyes gazed out the window. But first he needed a drink. 14 aug, 2019 18:34 |

"You are mine now" Trevor said and the audience gasped, even the one who had seen it before, something Vest couldn't understand. How could you be surprised by something you had seen before? Vest felt Trevor's arms around her as he smirked and she could tell that people expected her to die by the vampires hands. The play showing off how evil the magical creatures was. She could agree that the vampires wasn't always the most pleasant to meet, but she rather meet them than humans.
"Your assumptions are wrong my dear" Vest met Trevor's eyes and his eyes showed surprise, as they had done every evening, when they did that. Vest placed her hand on his cheek leaning in to kiss him, and as she did, he stumbled backwards placing his hands over his throat. "Garlic" he looked at her in horror. "I have known who you really are, since the moment you killed my sister. You thought I would never know. That I would be as easy to kill as her. But the truth is that I could never love anyone like you, a monster" she heard a few of the viewers cheer her on, like it was needed. She watched Trevor as he sank to his knees and as so many times before she wondered why humans thought garlic could kill a vampire? "You were going to be my bride and we were going to rule in this world forever" "And turn my glance from God, risking to lose my soul forever, if you had really known me and not been blinded by my beauty, you would have known that would never happen" Trevor fell down as he had died. "My the world never see your kind again!" With those words she walked of stage and the curtains fell. She had to resist to sign. She was aware that the writers wished to lift everyones spirit, and also show them what monsters the supernaturals were and how they could be defeated, but everything was so wrong. She would never comment that, making the humans believe in these lies made her life easier, yet they irritated her. "Ready to go out and meet their admiration?" Trevor asked as he came over to her, smiling. He enjoyed it, especially when the females almost pulled down their skirts for him. Vest only founded it annoying, hating that the humans admired her, but at least it gave her a great cover. "Do I have to?" "Always so shy when you aren't playing a role" Trevor laughed as he took her hand "And yes you have to, like every evening" Vest knew that, yet she asked because if she was lucky she could skip it a few nights, but seeing this was the last one for this show, she knew she had to. The applause was enormous and people threw flowers at her feet, cheering their names. Trevor picked one up giving it to her and she accepted it as she waved shyly, making people cheer even more. She stood there for as long as she had to before leaving the stage, Trevor staying a bit longer, but she wanted to return to her room and change so she could go out and hunt. Vest had gotten rid of the dress and changed into a pair of pants, boots and shirt, covering everything by her hands and face. She had managed to get her hair back to normal and she was just about to put on some make up when Trevor rushed in. "Trevor, you have to knock!" "Oh, I am sorry" he only laughed and she chose not to answer her. "We are going out drinking" "I..." "You can't say no! We have to celebrate our last show" "But I planned on meeting someone" "Doesn't matter, get ready, everyones waiting" Vest glanced through the door, seeing a few people waving at her and she knew that no excuse would be good enough and she slowly nodded. "I see you later" she looked at Rain, telling her to meet her at their usual meeting spot. Hopefully she would be able to break free. Vest was unsure of the name for the place that they went, but it seemed like most of the ones from the theater was well known there. Vest placed herself in the shadows as much as she could, people thought it was because she didn't wish to be seen by a few of the fans there, and she let them think that as she tried to think of a way to get away. 15 aug, 2019 03:36 |

Kael finished polishing his last boot and placed it on the ground next to him. Getting rid of a few weeks of dirt really gave them a whole new look, maybe even lost a little weight from all that mud and dust. He threw the rag to the corner of the small room and leaned forward, resting his arms on his knees with a small sigh as he gazed out the small window.
Solitude. He’s lived most of his life in some sort of isolation without a social lifeline. Even today, walking around all those people, literary surrounded by human life, he was still alone. It used to not bother him too much – social situations rarely brought any good with them, and he used to draw himself to seclusion like a moth to light. He was used to the avoidance of people but would be lying to himself if the short moments of human gratitude after a hunt wouldn’t give him some sort of satisfaction. A brief acceptance, a validation of what he’s done is righteous, it was almost addicting. But it was constantly ever so short. On his last few journeys he couldn’t help to get a slight discomfort to the thought that this was his life. A touch of… loneliness? Was he mournful? Was it regret? He had a hard time understanding these feelings or putting a finger on what it really was but it had been creeping up like a shadow in sunrise, and as usual he shrugged it away and ran his hands down his face. He had no desire to think about shallow feelings, it was time to get that drink he promised himself. He stood up carefully and gradually stretched both of his sore arms before stepping into the cleaned boots. His weighty jacket had been thrown on the bed beside him next to his hat. He placed the hat back on his head in an accustomed way and draped himself in the jacket. With the key tucked into a pocket he made his way down the stairs and out to the bare street. It was easier to blend into the background in the popular pubs and inns as people engaged in discussions with peers rarely took too much notice of the other people around. While his preferred place to go to seemed to be empty or closed down, he steered his steps to the place across the street as he knew it would be packed after the theatre show had ended. Deep in his thoughts he stepped inside the door, but as soon as it close behind him something hit him like a hard slap in the face. Magic, he rapidly cursed to himself and immediately scrutinized the room, clutching his nails into his fists. Someone here was not what they seemed to be, there was no doubt about it. Most likely a full blood, no aura of neither werewolf nor vampire, the nature of the cursed one was different. Too high to be an alchemist, it was not characteristic for dark elves, but could be a shaman or a warlock. His right hand swept quickly around his belt at the waist, feeling what weapons he had left on himself and not in his room. This was no place for battle in any way, too many humans around that could get hurt, but a necessary precaution. Kael squinted his eyes on the people as he slowly walked inside the bar with a disgusted curve on his lips. People cheering, raising their glasses, laughing or shouting in unison. Every part of his senses guided both his eyesight and his steps to a bench in the shadows, occupied by what seemed to be a fair-haired maiden. Bingo. Carefully not to make his presence too obvious to the rest of her entourage, he sat down slowly next to her. Yeah, there was no doubt about it – she reeked of cursed blood. “A shaman, intriguing” he pressed softly through his lips, giving the creature next to him a studying glance. 15 aug, 2019 15:14

"Look who I met" Trevor smiled as he walked over with Tatiana, a nobleman's daughter who came to almost all of their shows. Vest turned towards them, seeing that Tatiana was wearing a copy of the dress she had worn earlier, making it a bit hard for her to move.
"Hi Vest" she waved excitedly and Vest slowly waved back, trying to be shy. "I am dying to know how you make your hair, when you play Rarity" "Um..." she started almost frustrated that the girl wished to speak hairstyles with her. And for a second she wished to make the wooden table grow around her and choke her, but she knew that wasn't an option. Instead she had to behave and pretend that anything the woman said mattered. "I am not sure. I started sleeping with the hair like that, and that's why it looked more wavy at the last shows" "Sleeping with it? That's genius! I have tried to pull at it, but I could never get the right style. So then you just decorate it with stones?" Vest just nodded and Tatiana smiled and it almost seemed like she wished to clap her hands. "Always a delight to speak with you. I am looking forward to your next show! I know you and Trevor will be fantastic as always. What is it about? Who else is going to play? When will it start?" Vest had politely answered all her questions but when Trevor finally stated that it seemed like Vest was a bit overwhelmed he managed to get the young lady to disappear, and him with her. She was almost surprised that he hadn't gotten her pregnant at this point, or anyone else, at least not to her knowledge. Hoping that would never happen, knowing that Trevor would step up at that moment and actually marry the girl, which meant she would live with her and her baby at the theater, something Vest wasn't interested in at all. "Dance with me?" Philip asked, like he always did. He was their painter, and she couldn't deny that he made amazing scenery, it was a shame that he was a human, otherwise, who know maybe she would have had a little fun. "You know I don't dance" she answered a small smile as always. "I know, but it's always worth a try" "You always answer that" a forced giggle as she scanned the room, something had changed, a different aura. She wasn't sure from who or what, but it wasn't human, not fully at least, meaning a halfbreed. She glanced at Philip for a second. "It seems like Jane would like a dance" Jane was one of the costume makers, a shorter girl but very cute and happy and Philip nodded as he walked off. Vest didn't have to search the room long to find the source, mostly since it walked towards her, soon sitting down. Vest crossed her legs as she carefully made sure that she had easy accesses to her knife. It happened that she met other creatures, but it wasn't on a regular basis and it was always hard to know their drill. Not only because every creature was different often having different goals, but also because people could act outside for what was normal for their kind, like her. Most of her kind healed people, cared for them, she was far from that. And maybe that's why she wasn't scared, even if the stranger had looks that made her cautious. "Good evening half-bread" she answered him, meeting his eyes, with a small smile on her lips, one different from her others, this was a curious one, one wondering what he wanted, seeing that supernaturals rarely sought each other out without a reason. 15 aug, 2019 18:36 |

Kael gave the group a quick curious glance. These were some of the folks from the theatre that he had either heard of or spotted while around in town. He had never seen a show before, that kind of human storytelling had never really gotten to his liking. It might be an easy way to get messages across, but paying to see made up stories, lies on a stage… No, he did not get it. Not at all. Seeing this shaman in their company so calm and freely did not make sense to him. He had not met many shamans in his life, mostly because the cursed ones he had been around were more of a violent nature. There were always exceptions that proves the rule, though, so this would not necessary be the first shaman he would have fought. Nevertheless, even the most peaceful shamans would not happily seek out the presence of humans, at least not in their truest nature. This girl was blending in for a reason. Maybe for protection? Or something more sinister. He squinted his murky eyes and let his gaze slowly wander back to the fair-haired girl. Her smile and openness made him question her little roleplay she was doing in front of these humans. Maybe that was her thing – playing a role both in life and on stage? Humorous, if that was the case. Kael crossed his arms with his hands inside the lining of his jacket, fiddling the edges of a few small blades in his lining. “Humor me, little one,” he murmured quietly and nodded towards the entourage of celebrating actors, actresses and their supporters. “They have no idea what you are, do they?” 15 aug, 2019 21:14 |

Vest kept her eyes on the man in front of her, and the ones around her, knowing that if one of them came to close she would need to act again, or rather another role, because she wasn't to open with the stranger. Yet playing the shy, happy and careful girl they thought she was, wasn't something she showed to the stranger. She wouldn't let him know that she was a cruel and coldblooded killer either, she showed him a relaxed and curious side, hiding everything else. She had no idea of what the man wanted, but it had to be something since he walked up to her. He could easily have avoided her, both of them knowing about the others present but nothing more. But judging from his clothes she couldn't tell much. She could make a calculated guess that he was some sort of traveler and not a noble man, but who knows? Everyone could be deceiving, she was, so why couldn't the man be? But trying to guess who he was, wouldn't get her anywhere for now, and was therefore a waste of time. Instead she met his eyes ones more as she raised an eyebrow.
"Little one? Hm don't think anyone has ever called me that" she started pretending to remember, but far from offended by his words, and frankly she had been called worse. Vest glanced at the people around her for a second before smirking. "Besides a well known actress? No, they do not" For a second she wondered if the man planned on telling them. It wouldn't be the end of the world, just annoying meaning she would need to kill them to get away, knowing what they felt about supernaturals, before she would need a new undercover. Maybe she would do that one day, when she felt like it was time for her to move on, but as for now she liked it here, she despited the people, but she could move around freely and no one suspected her, and why would they. Vest turned towards the man again. "I wonder why you wonder tho? Are you concerned about them? Or just wondering if they would notice what you are?" 15 aug, 2019 21:37 |

Kael gave out a brief snort as he pressed his lips together into the slightest grin. So she was pretending, hiding in openness. Smart in a way, but senseless in most cases, he thought. This was something he had never come across before, which made him half intrigued. The other half was a good mix of distrust, disgust and suspicion.
He had never seen a supernatural one get this far into civilization either – usually they hung out in the perimeters or further away in the villages, woodlands and prairies. Or that’s where he used to hunt them. He gazed back at the noisy, dancing and drinking people in the bar and let his hand carefully caress from the temple of his head, under his hat to the back of his neck, showing the tiniest glimpse of the ever-so-slightly pointed ear before the black hair fell back into place. A small heritage, so to say. A hated one. “I do not hide per se,” he said quietly, letting his dark eyes glance back at the shaman. “But I do not promote it either.” There were fairly many who knew what he really was. He had always been rather honest of his cursed self, which had not always worked out in his favour. The ones sitting on the gold, those receiving orders on cursed creatures and their whereabouts, they knew very well Kael’s background, but he was a good mercenary. As long as he fought for them, it gave him a sort of acceptance in a way. He usually never stayed long in the cities anyway, just enough to collect his payment and gather up on supplies and potential information on where to head next. Humans were in that sense the least of his worries. “What is your intention?” Kael asked as he fixed his eyes on her, getting straight to the point. He was quick to guess that being an admired actress among humans was not a life aspiration for shamans, not during these darker times. 15 aug, 2019 23:33 |

Vest saw the ears only for a second and she understood that it was some elf in him at least. She rarely met any elves, and why would she? They lived longer than most so the chose just to leave and start over somewhere else. She wasn't sure if she admired them for it or thought of it as a cowardly move. But not meeting many meant that she wasn't to sure about them, meaning she wasn't sure of what to expect from him, especially when she didn't know what type of elf he was. They were all different.
*Some of us don't need, some of don't want to hide" she simply said unsure of his reasons. They could be anything. And without information she could just guess. For a second she wanted to smirk and laugh, saying she planned to kill them all, but even if he was a super natural, it wasn't a good thing to admit, seeing few likes it. "Besides surviving, not much" she simply answered as she shrugged her shoulders. And it wasn't a total love, she wished to survive. "Vest" she turned towards Edward when he sat down together with Tim, they were two of her biggest supporters and she gave them a small smile. "Are you alright? This man isn't bothering you" Vest turned to the stranger and than back to the two men and shook her head. "No" "Because if he is we can make him leave!" Tim stated and she shook her head again. "There is no need for that. We are simply discussing different plays, he is a writer" the men looked at the stranger, not really believing it. "You wish to dance?" Edward asked and she shook her head a third time. "You know I don't dance" "Same old Vest, as soon as you get of the stage you are so shy" Tim laughed and she gave him a shy smile before they stood up, gave the stranger a warning look and disappeared back to the crowed. Vest leaned backwards and almost smirked in the darkness, but hindered herself seeing the stranger there. "See no bad intentions, I only wish to survive" she lied as she drank from her cup.
